Progress and it's opposite...The battle of wits ends when you decide and we both drink...then we will see who is right, and who is dead.

I mentioned doing some taping and painting on Lucas' old room ...well some has been done and there is more to do. BUT, the wall that is finished is my new favorite. I got lucky enough to find an "oops" can of brown paint at the local paint store for 5 bucks, same with the blue paint. and the green was left here from the previous owner, I bought a quart of white to lighten the dark green for my light green so all in all the project cost 30 bucks, when four paint colors and tape could have cost me 80$ so I was pleased. One more striped wall to go and the baby's room will be done. I love it, love it. The picture of the grass is the sod that I planted last month, it has come to match beautifully, minus a few dry spots that want water. Lucas and I ate the first to strawberries off my plants this morning before church, he was very excited about his "berries."

PREGNANCY UPDATE: My ticker says I'm in the teens... that is really happy cause these feet can't do much more of this. I apologize for the scaryness that I call my feet, I took another picture of my right cankle at another angle but the picture was SBP(scary beyond postability). NO really, embarrassingly ugly. I say cankle just it's just one. They might appear equally ugly but in real life the right ankle no longer recognizable as ever having had joints. No ankle bones, just a puffy block with toes. (Notice the ohhh so pretty gardning tan lines on my feet. :) I am continuing to have contractions and tomorrow I get my first check up for progress. So we shall see if the Doctors are right and I have an entire month to go or if the battle between us is ended when I have made progress and the change of delivery dates is no longer a concern of mine. Hence the title of this entry from Princess bride, "the battle of wits" who is right and who is dead.

JUSTIN has been on call this week and has been called out every single night...SIIGGGHHHHH. Which ultimately means he is getting no sleep because he is working during the night (double time, at least we have that going for us) and trying to get a couple hours of sleep during the day. so 4 hours of sleep here and 2 there is adding up to...not much sleep this week. he got called after church today and worked from 12-7pm and came home put the kids to sleep while I ran some apple pie filling to my visiting teaching gals. he called me at 9 and said he got another call out so I came home only to him having to leave again. Lucas and I walked to church (well he rode in the stroller) while Justin tried to get a couple hours of sleep this morning, he brought Jacey later. Moral of the story goes= didn't see him before church, didn't sit with him at church, didn't see him after church, didn't see him before bed. haven't seen him much this week, which stinks. But come thursday (payday) it will feel a little less annoying. Lord love him for being such a hard worker, he works so hard for us when he's here it's hard to see him go to work twice in one day. He's got a good attitude though, he just says... "Have to pay for those bunkbeds" all with a smile on his face. These are the moments I remember when he says, "can I go golfing today?" even though I would really like him to stay home and hang out with me instead. I sure picked me a good one. Handsome too.

BUNKBEDS: The kids are chatty at night and it takes them an hour and a half to get over their visiting but they are going to sleep in their beds and they aren't sad about it soooo.. I call that a victory. Hopefully the games they play will get old and they go to sleep at a decent time here shortly. Lucas learned how to open doors with knobs today...........need I say more. Nothing and no one is safe any longer.

Look... They're little footballs...Here's the Baby Shower I was talking about in the last title.

Emily and Amanda making punch...and a picture of all the goodies we enjoyed.

My sisters threw me my first Washington baby shower, both Jacey and Lucas were born in Idaho. Jacey in Boise and Lucas in Lewiston. So it was fun to have everyone there that was able to join us. Thanks to everyone who came and participated and to those who weren't able to join us physically but have supported us in a variety of other ways...Thank you. Amanda and Emily went all out for me and I felt humbled by their effort to show their love for us. The crowd was a bit quiet at times but it seemed everyone had fun and no one should have left hungry. Some people bought gifts for what they thought it was and other played it neutral. Then some weren't having much fun shopping for the unknown and they said they will shop some more when the baby comes. Works for me.Thanks
again for everyones generosity and support we love ya!!
Jill was first up to pin the diaper on the baby, she wasn't being ostrasized or anything.
My mom pinning on her diaper...to the baby of course...She is still as young and beautiful as the day I was born.
P.S. I have been having contractions off and on all day, not the serious kind but mild and consistant. I'll take that.

Babyshowers, Bunkbeds and a picnic in between.

K- so now I have something fun to put on here. We are making progress on sleeping arrangements around here. We figured we'd better get started swapping children before the baby comes so they aren't all crying in the night at once due to a disturbance in their sleeping arrangements. So here are the kids new bunkbeds, they were a pretty good deal compared to what else we found and were the highest quality--go figure. After that purchase in town we went to the local furniture store and got mattresses for the best price again for your money...notice I am not saying I got a "steal" on anything... this is alllll adding up. Once you buy new beds you have to buy new sheets to put on them. So Jacey and I took a trip to walmart for mattress protectors (never know when the accidents are going to happen) and sheets. Now I have a me a little bit of a twitch, this was an expensive day. But I suppose it is the necessary change that was bound to take place. We did good on all our purchases, there was just a lot to purchase. This will be Lucas' first bed, no joke. He has slept in a port-a-crib his whole life, until tonight. He has been able to climb our for quite some time, though some how the walls of a playpen have given him boundaries up to this point, I am imagining that I will have to get up a dozen times tonight and tomorrow and possibly the next day... We'll let you know how it goes.
Here are a couple of pictures from the week, the kids and I ate dinner out on their picnic table last night while Justin was working late. He has started to work 4-10's instead of 5-8's which will save us a trip to Olympia once a week for work. Hooray!!

The other picture Justin took of Jacey all ready for church. Cute little bug. Look at how crazy her hair can be??!!

It means that you are a baboon... And I am not..

These are the kids sleeping with glow sticks that I gave them to get them out of my hair for a minute and they loved them.
Once again I logged on to quickly check my e-mail and read blogs before I started taping and painting Lucas' room and here it is 2 hours later and I am just finishing commenting and reading peoples updates. I really was giving myself 30 minutes and now my kids are awake and the painting will have to wait another day. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing everybodies stuff and love all that is going on in your worlds. 'Bout the same here, we are starting to see some consistant sunshine and I have a variety of tan lines.

I have been walking pretty consistantly and I am really enjoying the fruit that is finally in season. a few weeks ago I made some strawberry-rhubarb jam and a batch of rhubarb pie filling. Strawberrys are finally coming into season here and so I am gearing up for more of that. Justin is a fan of apricot jam and I only did one batch last year so he is ran out a long time ago. He is waiting for apricots to come into season.

I did finally pre-register at the hospital the other day so now I know what doors to come in when we do FINALLY go into labor. we are still working on sleeping arrangements and aren't sure who we will put where.

Well my bum hurts from sitting on this folding chair for the last 2 hours so I am going to go and start dinner. Hope this finds you all well. we are finally happy and healthy on the home front.

this is me at 35 weeks, Jacey was being the boss of the camera which she thoroughly enoyed, this was one of the few that was fairly centered and didn't catch me mid sentence trying to tell her how to work the buttons. Nevermind the expression. There was no car and no headlights. Later All Y'all.

SICK and TIRED....but this time it isn't me!

This is Lucas on his death bed with a puke bowl just in case. And after his tylenol kicked in the puke bowl on his head, (still clean :)
My poor babies...Lucas came home from church fine and by 6:30 in the evening he was cuddling with Justin looking a little wiped out. Justin said "he (Lucas)doesn't feel good" and we kept on with our evening, at about 7:00 he was asleep in Justin's arms and burning up, we didn't get a real accurate temp on him but definitely feverish. I gave him Tylenol and he was up an hour later bouncing off the walls like nothing ever happened. He was hot all night after his Tylenol wore off and so we did cold compresses on his forehead for a while and put him back to sleep with some more Tylenol. He slept in.... and slept...10:00 am rolled around and I checked to see if he was still breathing, this is the boy who is up at 7:15 every morning, and he slept.... FINALLY at 11:30am I went in to give him Tylenol and after that he got up. Dang kid was making me nervous. I know sleep is the best thing when you don't feel good but sleeping with a fever was making me wonder if I should wake him for his medicine or not. so finally...I did. Later in the afternoon after it seemed he was over his fever I noticed he had a goopy ear. I figured his fevers were from his now obvious ear infection and now that his eardrum burst the fevers would quit. But apparently he had more than just an ear infection cause after he slept all morning he still took his nap and we had to wake him up at 5 so he would sleep again at bedtime. He went to bed at his normal 8pm time and slept all night and through the morning until 10:15 this morning.

Jacey started with the fever while we were at Costco being VEERRRRYYYY mellow laying on the canned peaches the whole trip (except when we had the ice cream topping sample which they thoroughly enjoyed) she got into the car and after the rest of our errands fell asleep on the way home. She put herself to bed after some Tylenol with a 103.0 temp. I'm guessing that had Lucas cooperated he would have had a similar temperature. so they are both exhausted and sleeping Lucas on the mend and Jacey in the beginning of this feverish mess. At least there is NO puking.

Lucas has an appointment tomorrow for his recheck of height and weight and now we'll add his ear issues to that visit. His cousin had been sick before the weekend last week and we saw her friday, but she was throwing up and stuff, so I am not sure where we got this one. She went to the doctor and they found she had a double ear infection as well. I know you can't catch an ear infection but how weird is that?? They both end up with ear infections at the same time? maybe a cold got their poor heads draining into their ears instead of our their noses. We'll let ya know if the wee one has growth issues. I am assuming it is going to take years of monitoring before they do anything. this is just the first discussion of many.

The wind picked up last night, quite a bit up north of us and a little bit down here so Justin got called out and worked through the night into this morning so he too is asleep.

As for me, I am going to do whatever I WANT while everyone is sleeping...what that will be, I have not yet decided.... :)

To the death...NO! To the PAIN....and for me there is no solution.

This is the typical morning view I have of Lucas. UUUPPPP he's saying. Or if I get on the phone, this is what I can look forward too. At least he still wants me right?! I guess he could be pushing me out of his life, I am sure that is still to come give him 10 0r 12 years. What a crazy funny boy!
Are you guys getting my movie quote titles?? I don't quote near the way I used too but I still enjoy a well regurjitated scene. This one and the last are both Princess Bride (in case you didn't catch it) The title goes along with my chiropractor visits. The first visit was uncomfortable and useless while the second was less uncomfortable but none the less useless. Generally pregnant women have lower back pain which chiropractors fix all the time, this however is NOT the case with me. So my Dr. says this may not work and I wouldn't waste your time or money on it if these two vistits don't give you some relief, which they didn't. So I won't be going back. So apparently there is no solution to this kind of pain, tylenol, drs., chiropractors, sleep, sitting, standing... all feels about the same.

I wish I had the normal relievable sorts of pain, but I guess the upside of this is I have a good back and once I am done being pregnant (forever) I won't have to have this rib and back pain ever again!! And that my friends is GOOD NEWS.

P.S. we don't actually know if we are having a boy or a girl we didn't find out and the boy name poll was because we have a girl name we like so here in a month or so we'll have a surprise post and tell you what we had.

It is down to you... and it is down to me...

I see I haven't posted in a week and probably because there is not much to report. The kids seem to be over the hump as far as pushing my every button and hitting every nerve. Maybe this is a less hormonal week who knows. But... they are still very much toddlers, they have just cut out the ferocious badness that we were all experiencing. I actually had a 45 minute bath while they played together and watched t.v. and they didn't even do that much screaming... Lucas got the food out of the roundy in the kitchen and was just beginning to drink the flower water on the table that I put the rhododendron in a day or two ago, so it was fairly clean.(probably cleaner than the bath water they drink that I can't convince them is sooo yucky.) so all in all not bad.
I had to cancel my first ever chiropractor appt because BOTH kids were sleeping which is rare. Jacey always has some alone time in her room but rarely ever does she actually sleep so there was no way I was waking her up, back pain or no. So I'll let you know how it goes, I rescheduled for tomorrow morning.
